Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a rare progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks parts of the nervous system over time. MND, which is also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) damages the motor neurones (specialist nerve cells) in the brain and spinal cord. Messages gradually stop reaching muscles within the body that in turn leads to weakness and visible wasting.

MND can affect your ability to walk, talk, swallow and breathe. MND takes the life of 1 person every 8 hours in the UK; over 6,000 people are affected by MND in the UK alone. There is currently no cure for MND, however the symptoms can be managed to help sufferers achieve the best possible quality of life. With recent medical advances, a number of clinical drug trials are now being undertaken around the world.

At Baroque Boutique we hold various fund-raising events to help raise money for the MNA Association (MNDA). Click here to find out more about the MND Association and how you can help such a worthy cause.
